I’ve been meaning to write about our trip to Waco FOREVER now but time got away from me. Better late then never right?! Any who–this past January I had the amazing opportunity to go with my friend Rachel on a fun filled weekend trip to
Magnolia Market. No kids, no laundry, no dishes, just a couple girls with big suitcases on a mission to find all the treasures, eat all the food, drink all the coffee and hopefully run into Chip and Jo.
We flew into Waco in the evening and drove by the Silos before checking into our hotel. Everything was closed around it with the exception of a couple restaurants. We stayed at the
Home2 Suites by Hilton and it was great! Very close to the Silos, free breakfast, clean rooms, friendly staff– what more could you ask for? =)
First things first, cupcakes!
The Bakery is open before the store and we got up early to get there just before it opened at 7:30. Not many people were there yet so we were first in line. The rest of the day the line was out the door and way down the sidewalk. Soooo glad we got there early! We each got a couple boxes of goodies to take back to our families. The cupcakes are AMAZING. Just get a bunch the first time. You won’t want to wait in line for an hour to get more later. And trust me you will want more than one!
The gates were open to the yard and garden even though the store wasn’t open yet, so we were able to take photos before the crowds arrived.
It was sprinkling off and on in the morning so the tables were wet but by the afternoon it had stopped and someone was walking around drying everything off.
One of the most exciting parts of the trip was the Magnolia Warehouse sale! Apparently this only comes around once – maybe twice a year. When we decided which weekend to go we didn’t even know this was scheduled during our visit. And we didn’t realize how awesome it would be until we got there. We were walking around the Silos taking pictures and several other people we met mentioned they had been and we should go. So since we had a little time before the store opened up we decided to give it a shot. YOU GUYS, so much stuff at clearance prices. I was a little overwhelmed at first but then got my act together and filled my little bag with as many goodies as I thought I could fit in my suitcase. By the time we made it to the checkout counter they had marked everything down an additional 30%. What!? So naturally we took our goodies to the car and made another round!
And we met Joanna’s mom!
We drove back to the Silos to visit the store and check out the
food trucks for lunch. There was so much good food!
Magnolia Table wasn’t open yet when we went so we didn’t get to try it. But hey-now we have a reason to go back! (As if the cupcakes aren’t enough) =)
This was taken just before closing when the crowd died down. When we went through the first time around noon it was shoulder to shoulder.
As you can see from the photo they have a little shipping station at the store. So if you don’t want take all your goodies with you on the airplane you can have them shipped. They were running a special when we went-anything over $100 ships free. But since we had done so much shopping at the warehouse sale our purchases at the store didn’t meet the requirement. (This is where our big, lightly packed suitcases came in handy.)
After the Silos we visited
Harp Design Co. The house they fixed up for them from the show is right beside it. And lucky us-they were having a sale too!
And we saw the original Magnolia store on our way to the warehouse sale.
Did I mention we wanted to try all the food? =)
The Pie Peddler is down the street from the Silos so we stopped here for a bit to re-energize. Delicious!
The Findery is also walking distance from the Silos and has some really cute things. Definitely worth checking out!
For dinner we went to
Hecho En Waco. It was right down the street from the Silos also and so delicious!
It was such a fun trip with the sweetest friend. Have any of you been to the Silos? I’d love to hear your stories! Any fun things you’d recommend doing that we missed?
This sounds like it was a successful weekend at the Magnolia Market. I've always wanted to go. I'll have to plan something.

This looks like my dream market to wander around.
Haven't been there. Me and my husband love to travel.added to my bucket list. Thanks for sharing these info.
I've never been before, but it definitely on my list to do now. I love the earthy tones and rich colours of the clock wall. Totally my kind of thing.
