Doctor’s Day was actually last month so I’m a little late but better late than never right? So today I’d like to recognize the best doctor ever, my dad. Last week he retired from his practice that he’s had for almost 30 years. He is one of five brothers who are also doctors and my sweet grandpa was too. It’s a little bittersweet because while I’m excited my parents will be able to visit more {hoping for some free babysitting =)} I’m  sad we won’t get to visit the office when we go home. We will miss getting to visit the staff and the girls getting their check-ups at grandpa’s office. Claire loves to go to the doctor… weird I know.
It’s where I had stitches (twice), lots of shots, blood drawn and countless check-ups. I won’t even start on the number of times my sister went in. We called her an accident waiting to happen.
I remember making “rounds” with my dad in the nursing home and I even watched him deliver a baby once (with the mom’s permission of course). I wanted to be a nurse at the time and he said it would be educational but I think it really was meant to be a form of birth control. I felt so bad for that lady and what she had to go through. Although now that I’ve done it twice it doesn’t seem so bad.
This is the little article that was put in the paper on his last day. My sister works at a newspaper company in California so she was in charge of putting this together and she did a great job!

I’m not sure what he’s gonna do now with all his free time. I’m hoping to interest him in a full time nanny position available at my house. The pays not great but the hugs are free! =)
