I showed you how to make the ruffle burlap wreath a few days ago and now I’m going to show you the rest of the room. This is what I call the breakfast room. It’s really just our regular dining room since I took the table out of the original dining room and turned it into my craft/sewing room. It’s a long story so I’ll have to tell you more about that later. I’ve got some plans for that room in the future. Anyway so I thought it would be fun to set the table for fall since I’ve got some fun fall tableware. I worked at Pottery Barn a few years ago and spent way more than I ever made I’m sure but they make you think your getting a great deal with the employee discount and all so I couldn’t resist.
It all started with this flower box. I was shopping the house and found it in the garage. It actually is an accessory for my daughters play set but I have yet to put it on so I decided to use it for the table. I put the mason jars in and they fit just perfectly. I had originally put fake flowers in the jars (trying to be cheap and not buy anything new for this project) and literally just as I was finishing my husband came home with REAL flowers. I didn’t even ask!
Here’s a close up of the place setting. I know you’re probably thinking “Did she really just put a paper napkin in that fancy napkin ring?” Yes, I did! The cloth napkins I had didn’t match and I’m being cheap today. (Remember shopping the house.)
There’s that burlap wreath.
For a place card idea I punched out paper with my 2″ scallop circle punch and my 1.3″ circle punch (Hobby Lobby). I glued the small circle on top, punched a whole in it, wrote the name and hung it from the apple stem with twine.
Claire was pretty excited her name was on an apple! The window treatments in this room are going to be replaced soon also. Would you believe I’ve had the fabric for like a year now and still not made them? I told you I was a procrastinator. I need to make them while I still like the fabric…wait what did it look like again?
